Procedure (35-42 minutes)
Students will watch a short YouTube video from good morning Britain and write down their predictions for what the lesson might be about. (2 minutes) YouTube video: https://youtu.be/tmxK52JVpOQ CCQ: Will you write your predictions? I will then ask students to feedback their ideas and write them on the class slides. (2 minutes) EQs: Did the man in the video win a prize? (Yes) What was his prize? (A trip and money) What do you think our topic is today? (Prize winners/people who win prizes)
Activity 1 Ask students to read through the text and answer the four true or false questions on the google forms. (2 Minutes) CQs: Can you access the google form? Will you get the answers from the text? Break out rooms to discuss answers (1 minute). CQS: Will you discuss your answers? Will you speak in Spanish? Whole class feedback: What did you get? (1 minute) Answers: False False False True Activity 2 Ask students to use google slides to underline words very, really, too and quite. (2 minutes) Demonstrate activity, underlining first two words. Tell them that there are 8 more. CQs: Is the activity on google slides? Do you have access to the slides? Whole class feedback. (2 minutes) Did you find all 10? Alternate giving examples of what they have found.
Meaning 1. Match the pictures exercise on google slides (1 minute). Whole class feedback: correct answers. (1 minute) CQ: Will you match the pictures with the words? 2. Whole class discussion: which one means "more than you need?" (1 minute) Answer: "too" 3. Describe an adverb - it describes nouns or verbs. (2 minutes) CQs: Can an adverb describe a noun? Yes Can an adverb describe a verb? Yes Which one of these words is negative? Too. Form 1. Break out room: discuss the form of the verb and fill in the gaps. (2 minutes) CQs: Will you edit the slides?
