Main Aims

To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of making plans and arrangements.

To provide process and product writing practice of a notes in the context of writing notes.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide detailed reading practice using a text about short notes in the context of making plans and writing notes.
Procedure (47-58 minutes)
1. Read some of the last short texts you got on your phone. 2. Are they similar to your classmates? 3. tell us how did you respond to those messages?
1. Read the questions in 9. 2. Read messages 1-4. 3. In pairs, answer the questions. 4. Share your answers with the teacher.
1. Read the words in the box in 10A. 2. Look at messages 1-4 in 9 again. 3. The words in the box are missing from the messages. 4. In pairs, put the words where they belong in the messages. 5. Share your answers with the teacher.
1. Read the messages in B. 2. Rewrite the messages, and use fewer words. 3. Compare your messages with your classmates. 4. Share your answers with the teacher. 1. Read the situations in 11. 2. Write short messages for those situations. 3. Compare your messages with your classmates. 4. Share your messages with your teacher.
At this stage, the teacher will provide the students with feedback on both fluency and accuracy.
