Pre-Intermediate level

Description

In this lesson, students will learn review and practice the present continuous tense for future arrangements. They will do this by reading a text related to New Year's activities. The lesson will begin with a lead-in to engage students. Afterwards, the text will be presented and students will read for gist and complete an intensive task. Next, meaning, form, and pronunciation of the present continuous will be reviewed. Students will then practice the present continuous in the context of a controlled activity. Last, students will engage in a freer practice activity that will involve speaking.
