Procedure (41-51 minutes)
I am going to use Bob the Teddy Bear first to talk about my own family, using possessive nouns, and then to talk about Bob's family. Then I am going to throw him to a student and ask him/her to talk about his/her family. I am going to ask questions with 's to expose the subject of the session.
I am going to stick a photo of TV series Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman Ki on the WB, and ask students to talk about the family relations.
I am going to ask students to read the text on Page 34 of the coursebook. I am going to take the first ones as example and write it on the WB to show the difference between two usages of 's. Then I am going to ask them to underline the other examples and decide on the usage. After they finish, we will check the answers together. Then the second and the third grammar activity of the page will be done after an in-depth reading.
I am going to ask some stronger students to change their seats and sit next to weaker ones to help them with this activity. In each pair, one student is going to be A, and the other B. They are going to ask each other questions like "What is Barry's job?" or "How old is he?" or "What's his/her name?" to fill in the gaps. When they finish, I am going to ask them to come to the WB one by one and write full sentences for each person.
I am going to give each student a colour and ask them to find three objects in the classroom with that colour and make sentences about them without saying the colour so that the others can guess.
I am going to stick the board game and the question cards that I have prepeared on the WB and divide students into two groups. They will roll a dice and try to find the matching question, reead it aloud and answer questions to be the group which finishes first. This game will serve as a review.
