Procedure (8-15 minutes)
show a picture of Picasso’s most famous painting for 20 seconds; ask SS to work in pairs and discuss the picture for two minutes; get some feedback from the SS.
ask SS to read first the sentences in worksheet No. 2 (a “True or False” exercise); ask SS to read the text in worksheet No. 1, (the reading passage);
ask SS to answer individually question No. 2; ask SS to do a peer check; get some feedback from the SS.
Use some of the answers to draw the SS’ attention to: 1. The regular form of the target language (Subject + V. + ed ending). 2. The function of the target language (what it means). 3. Explicate three different pronunciations of the ‘ed’ ending of regular verbs in the simple past tense: / Id /, / t / or / d /.
