Description

In this lesson the teacher is going to start talking about traveling and she is going to ask SS where do they like to travel and why. Then they are going to learn new vocabularies. The teacher is going to talk about persuasive writing (main opinion, reasons etc), Then SS are going to read a part and find the main idea and reasons that support that. The teacher is going to ask a question related to the reading. After that SS are going to consider their favorite trip ever and write a main idea and 3 reasons to persuade their friend to travel to that place then they have to turn their sentences to a paragraph. In the end, they swap their writing with their partner and read each others writings.

Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher starts talking about where she likes to travel / her favorite cities / main reasons of choosing that area etc.

Highlighting (2-3 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

In this part the teacher is going to show pictures of different places in the world and ask SS where do they like to travel and why? After that the teacher, teaches new vocabularies by students help

Clarification (2-4 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

The teacher talks about persuasive writing, main opinion of the writing and reasons. Then the teacher asks students to read a part and find the main opinion and 3 reasons that support that opinion. The teacher is also going to ask a question about the text e.g : Did the text persuade SS to travel to Corsica?

Controlled Practice (5-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

SS are going to consider the best place they've ever been and they start writing a topic sentences expressing their main opinion and 3 reasons to support their opinion. After that they are going to use their sentences (opinion and reasons) to write a paragraph. After doing the writing part, SS swap their writing with their partner so they can give feedback to each other.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

SS are going to talk about a country/city they've traveled to. e.g: Is it popular or not? What languages are spoken there? How it the weather there? What are the tourist attractions? etc.
