In pairs, work on the following task: 1. Read the words in the box in 1B. 2. Read the questions. 3. Get back to the words in the box and answer the questions.
In pairs, work on the following task: 1. Listen to the six sentences in 1C. 2. Read the words in the box. 3. Listen again and start ticking the words in the box. 4. Share your answers with the teacher.
At this stage, the teacher will teach the following of the new vocabulary: 1. Meaning: eliciting the meaning, pictures and CCQs. 2. Pronunciation: IPA, drilling individually and chorally. 3. Form: explain the type of the word.
In pairs, work on the following: Six of the words have two syllables. Find the words and underline the stressed syllable. Say the words aloud, putting the stress on the correct syllable. At this stage, the teacher will provide support with IPA and stress.
In pairs or small groups, discuss the following: 1. Can you think about one man and woman who have played essential roles in your life? Who were they? Why was the relationship important? 2. Do you think men and women are different in these roles? How? At this stage, the teacher will walk around, record notes, and provide little support on the targeted language.
To provide feedback on fluency.
