To provide scan reading practice using a text about scared of spiders in the context of cure, exposure therapy, overcome

Procedure (22-32 minutes)

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

they are going to see some pictures of phobia , teacher assumes that the students know the word, teacher asks the question " have you ever experienced any kinds of phobia?" They talk about phobia and treatment

Exposure (3-4 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Students are going to see the pictures which are related to arachnophobia and different kinds of treatment.Teacher asks student question about them.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

teacher is going to teach new vocabularies and defines the words by giving example and then students are going to match the words with some pictures

Clarification (6-9 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

students are going to scan the passage and elicit the answers of 2 questions which are given to students.They first read the questions then they scan the passage in order to find the answers.they first read the answers to their partners then to the teacher. now students are given enough time to read the whole passage carefully .

Controlled Practice (6-8 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Student are going to read the whole text carefully then students are going to mark the sentences True or False .Then they will compare their answers with their partners and then it will be checked with the class.

Free Practice (3-4 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

students are going to discuss different stages of exposure therapy in claustrophobia and arachnophobia
