Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T introduces the game and presents instructions "-Write a list of FOUR things in your HOUSE. -Work n pairs, and try to describe the things to your partner. Don’t say the thing. -Your partner guesses what the things are" T presents ICQs and starts the game. Content Feedback.

Test #1 (4-5 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

T passes HO and gives instructions " work alone and Classify these words or phrases, which we use with MAKE and which we use with DO? " T models 2 answers. Ss work alone, check in pairs then check from the Answer Key. T asks Ss to Highlight expressions that they aren't sure about Their meaning in the Answer key HO. T Highlight These expressions on the board to get ready for the clarification stage.

Teach (6-8 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

T asks Ss if anyone can give the meaning of any of the Highlighted expressions. T will delete the mark if Ss get it. T presents a picture showing the difference between "do the washing and do the washing-up" T passes HO3 and asks Ss to study the definitions and examples to understand the meaning on their own. T asks if they want to ask about anything, then checks their understanding by asking CCQs. T drills expressions, Ss repeat them.

Test #2 (4-5 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

T Passes HO4 and gives instructions " Work alone and choose the correct verb. You have two minutes" T models a question. Ss Think-Pair-Share then check their answers from The Answer Key. T passes HO5 and gives instructions "work alone and Fill the gap with the CORRECT FORM of make or do you have two minutes" T demonstrates the meaning of the correct form. Ss Think-Pair-Share then Check their answers from The Answer Key.

Free practice (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T divides Ss into pairs (randomly) and gives instructions "work in pairs. Ask your partner these questions. If he/she answers yes, ask him a follow question." T models and asks ICQs. Ss start asking and answering. T monitors and writes notes. -Content Feedback "what did you find out about your partner?" -Language Feedback: T writes 3 sentences two wrong and one correct and asks Ss about them.
