To provide gist and scan reading practice using a text about daily activities in the context of interview of a TV actress. To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a asking for informaiton in the context group conversations. Procedure (35-45 minutes)
T. capitalize on on the images in the text book and introduce the scenario in the images and then tell Ss if they know about the actress in the image and what questions they can ask in order to get the information about her. Allow open class discussion for two minutes.
: Screenshare the task. Demo what is to be done and share link in chat and get Ss to underline the four 'WH' quesions in the text for 2 minutes. T monitor, check and correct by eliciting answers from the whole class. OCFB Answers: 1) Where are yout from Kari? 2) What time do you get up? 3) What about breakfast? 4) When do you have lunch? T. instruct Ss to do activity 'b' on the G. slide, do demo and give Ss 2 minute to due task. T. monitor, check and help Ss if necessary. MEANING Share screen and show Ss. Google Jamboard frame 1 with the questions. T do demo and then share link in zoom chat. Ss access the link and do a matching activity of matching the questions to their functions. Ss work individually for 1 minute before going to BORs to peer check their answers for 2 minues. T monitor Ss, take note and then share the answers on the screen, check answers and give OCFB. ICQs: Do you have to answer or match the quesions with the functions? Match. T screnshare Jamboard frame 4, replay question 1 of the audio Ss listen, T place enfasis on the pronunciation of 'do you' by showing the linking and stress on the board and then T drill class and Ss individually. T repeat the process for two or three more quesions Placing enfasis on connected speech and intonation. T elecit from students the rising intonation at the end of each question.
