Description

In this lesson, learners will learn about different type of clothes.I will start with the lead-in, we will discuss about shopping for clothes and wether they love it or not, and about the type of clothes that I wear.Then it's followed by a vocabulary test.Then I will teach them the vocabulary that was in the first test, after that we have another test.At last they will have a freer practice about the clothes that their partner is wearing.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will start the lead-in by asking the student about their love for clothes and do they love shopping or not, then I will show some pictures of different type of clothes and ask them to guess which type of clothe do I like to wear and let them discuss in pairs. After that I will discuss their answer in open class feedback.

Test #1 (6-7 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

I will start giving instruction for the first task.They will match the items of clothing in the box with pictures form A-M, individually.I will ensure my instructions with ICQs ' are you working in pairs or alone'?, ' are we matching the words with the pictures?'. I will demonstrate the first one with them and let them do the rest.I will be monitoring them while they are solving the task, after that I will ask them to check their answers together.At last I will provide them with the key answers as feedback.

Teach (10-14 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

I will start with applying (ECDW).I will elicit some of the words by pictures and some by realia. (By pictures): 1_a suit , 2_ a tie , 3_ trousers , 4_ jeans 5_ a baseball cap 6_ a skirt , 7_ trainers 8_ a jumper 9_ a jacket , 10_ shorts 11_ a shirt (By realia): 1_ sunglasses , 2_ a dress I will ask them some CCQs, foe example for( jumper)' do we wear it in summer or winter?'for (jacket) ' can men and women wear it?'.After eliciting I will model/drill the words in meaningful sentences and then write it on the board with highlighting the stress parts and the type of the words.

Test #2 (6-7 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

We will move to the second task which will be about matching the words with its definition.i could back up my instructions with some ICQs" are you doing it alone or in pairs?" , " are you matching the words with the definition?".I will demonstrate the first one with them then let them do the rest.Meanwhile I will be monitoring them to check wether they are finding any difficulties in doing the task or not. After they finish I will ask them to check Their answers together and I will follow that by giving them open class feedback.

Free practice (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

At the last stage of the lesson, I will give them a speaking task.they will ask each other about the clothes they are wearing , from where did they buy it and when did they buy it.They will ask every on in the room and the one they ask they will write their name beside their answer.but before doing the task I will try to elicit the questions that they will use and demonstrate with them.While they are doing the task I will monitor them and apply the linguistic feedback after they finish the task.
