In this lesson, students will practice listening as a main skill and speaking as a sub skill. Students will learn relevant vocabulary related to the topic of "lucky escape ". Students will also have the opportunity to identify the main idea and details of an audio and express their opinion in the context of mountain accident

Main Aims

  • To provide our listening skills ,how to pronounce new vocabulary , how to say the story by your own way

Subsidiary Aims

  • Speaking: The sub aim is speaking. At the end of the lesson students will be able to express their pinion in the context of " lucky escape "".

Procedure

Warmer " game " (3-5 minutes) • to encourage the students ,prepare them to learn by stimulating their minds and/or their bodies.

Exercises. This one is great for over excited students who need to burn off a bit of energy. It's also good for classroom commands and numbers. Stand the students in a line and call out instructions: "Jump 10 times", "Turn around 4 times" etc. Other good ones to use are: run (on the spot), hop, hands up & down, touch your (body part), stand up & sit down and star jump.

lead in • To set lesson context and engage students

show the students picture about " mountain " that helps the students to elicit the topic of the lesson which is "mountain accident ". then the teacher ask the students : Do you like skiing ?do you do it before ? Do you here about mountain's accident ? Is skiing cause danger ?

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Contextualization Do you like mountain ? Do you skiing before ? When did you skiing last time ? " Work in groups , you have five minutes , write the answer of the following question in points " ICQS Do you going to work in pairs or in groups ? Do you going to write or say the answer ? Do you going to write in points or sentence ? How much time do you have ? general discussion every one write two sentence about his own opinion "mountain accident "and do you afraid of skiing ?, you have three minutes work individually . Aoron's friend fell down when they were skiing in Idaho from 1200 feet ,it was miracle because he doesn't have break in any bones , it just a few bumps on his head . 2-Did he die when he fell down ? No, he did not . 3-When did the rescue team arrived ? The rescue team arrived after four hours. 4-Did they go to the hospital by car or be helicopter? They flew him to the hospital by the helicopter. 5-Does he have any broken bones ? No. he does not. ICQS How much time do you have ? Do you going to work in groups or individually ?
