Procedure (35-45 minutes)
I will start with talking a bout writing and how much I love writing and why?.I will talk about how I used to write letters to my friends in every occasion they had, then I will ask them whether they love writing letters or not and if they write letters, who do they write to?.Then I will let them discuss in pairs.
In this stage I will expose the student to a model ( written letter) in page (73) in the students' book, which they are going to read and ignore the gaps, I will tell them to try and figure which picture is the one Melanie talking about in the letter.Mean while I will be monitoring and try to help them if they need anything, then I will ask them to check their answers in pairs.lastly I will provide them with open class feedback.
I will ask them to read the text again and fill the gaps by putting the verbs in the right tense. But first I will demonstrate the first two gaps with them and elicit the present simple and continuous from them and I will ask them to repeat after me the sentences that we solved. Then let them do the rest, after that I will ask them to check their answers together.I will follow that by giving them the answer keys to the question.
I will give them some cut ups about the stages of forming a letter and I will divide them in to two groups and tell them to arrange the suitable sentences with the suitable stage.
I will ask them to write a task'' I want you to imagine that you are on a holiday to any place you like and you will be writing a letter to your friend describing to her that place, And while they are writing I will be monitoring. After they finish writing I will ask them to give the papers and I will stick it on the board and ask them to go and read the letters they wrote and tell me which place you would want to go to for your next holiday.
while they are writing I will be monitoring them and after they finish I will give them linguistic feedback on the board.
