Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T shows a Picture of live events. T gives instructions "look at these pictures and tell me what is the meaning of "live events"? T makes a sentence about himself and Ss are going to talk about themselves or their family using verbs in the picture.

Test #1 (5-6 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

T introduces Kahoot to Ss by giving instructions and modeling a question and how to answer using the cards. Instructions "we will play a game. we have some verbs I need you to choose the past form of the verb. each answer has a color you raise the color of the correct answer" ICQs " will we say the answer or raise the card?" "We choose the present form or the past form?"

Teach (6-8 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

T introduces a sentence in the past " I played football yesterday", Asks CCQs to elicit the meaning from Ss. T Introduces some regular verbs and Asks Ss to change them to the past focusing on adding "ed" rules.T elicits examples of irregular verbs, focuses that they don't follow a specific rule.T gives a list of irregular verbs. T passes a HO and Asks Ss to mention if the verbs are 1 or 2 syllables according to what they listen from T. Ss answer alone, then check in pairs finally check from the Answer Key.

Test #2 (4-5 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

T Gives Ss a HO and gives instructions " choose the correct answer in the past. you answer alone. you have 1 minute" ICQs " Are the sentences in the present or past?" " you are going to answer alone or in pairs?". Then Ss check in pairs After that check from the Answer Key. T shows some regular verbs, Asks Ss to change into the past using (d-ed-ied). Ss answer as a whole class

Free practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T asks Ss to write 2 sentences more about something they did in the past. Then Ss share their ideas In pairs. T monitors then provides Ss content and language feedback.
