In this lesson they will become familiar with passive and the base structure, moreover they will learn what its main usage is.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of Passive in the context of Party

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of Invention of dishwasher machine

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

They will be shown the question in the first slide and then I ill ask them the question and then they will answer.

Exposure (4-6 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

In this stage first I will ask how can I make this sentence with its object in place of subject and then I will change the active sentence to the passive form and then I want them to change it to past form of passive

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

In this stage I highlighted important and fixed part of sentence and then show the formula that is in next slide.

Clarification (3-5 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Here I explain the meaning, say the name of grammar and then give them 3 common reason that we use passive. CCQ: Do we know the doer of action when we use passive form?

Controlled Practice (4-4 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Here they will have 4 minutes to fill the blanks of 6 sentences by the words in parenthesis that will be shown in the slide of power point. ICQ: Should you fill the blanks by using words in parenthesis or fill them by your own words?

Free Practice (3-3 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

They see this question "What have you been given lately?" on the nest slide and they will have 3 minutes to talk about it 2 by 2 ICQ: How much time do you have?
