To make students practice reading for skimming, scanning and reading for details in the context of My Day Yesterday.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide practice of was and were in the context of My Day Yesterday
Procedure (35-45 minutes)
Presenting two flash cards; one for yesterday and one for today to get the concept of yesterday using gestures.
1- Sts read the paragraph about my day yesterday for 30 seconds. 2- Ask them about was and were used in the text. 3- Sts read again to do the T/F activity and check in pairs. 4- Showing some cards of words and phrases to practice using was and were. .
1- elicit examples about was and were used in that text from sts. 2- Draw a table of verb to be in the present and in the past and highlight was and were.
1- Use CCQs to focus on meaning. 2- Drill the examples and focus on was with singular subjects and were with plural ones in the three forms; positive, negative and question. 3- Drill and focus on pronunciation of was and were and drill again.
1- Get sts HO1 to more focus on the TL. 2- Sts check with their partners. 3- Do FB as WC and focus on error corrections
1- Get sts HO2 and give them clear instructions to get information about each other. 2- I monitor and get notes. 3- In pairs, check their answers with their partner. 4- Check as WC and do some error corrections.
1- Now sts have information about their partners, in groups A and B, they practice freer the TL and I monitor. 2-Do FB about was and were and give them a scanned picture which is a summary about the TL.
