Main Aims

  • By the end of this lesson, Ss will have practiced the meaning,pronunciation and form of has/have+ P.P in the context of a monkey who has escaped.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide gist reading practice in order to discover the grammar form

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1-Start with greeting my Ss 2-show them a picture of a zoo and ask them: -Do you like animals? -Did you visit a zoo before?

Exposure (1-2 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

-start by showing Ss a photo of a monkey and ask them " what do you thin happened to this monkey?" -read the first paragraph fast and then tell me your opinion -ask them to read the passage again for one min and give me four sentences that have" have or has" and the following verb -give them one min to read fast and underline the sentences -ICQs: will you read the whole passage?yes are you going to underline have and has?yes how many sentences? 4 -check their answers

Clarification (2-3 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the task language

1-show them an example: "a monkey has escaped from the zoo" 2- Ask CCQ: Does it happen in the past? Yes Do we know exactly when something happened? No Does it has an effect in the present? (Yes) 3- Draw a time line to illustrate what I'm saying. 4-Elicit some sentences from the Ss 5-Drill chorally and use finger highlighting. 6--Elicit the form from the ss. 7-Point to the first word and ask is it a subject or a verb? (subject) 8-what's next?has/have,hasn't /haven't 9- Is it followed by infinitive or P.P ?P.P (v3) 10-drill the sentence and show them the contraction and the intonation. 11-point at the marker sentence again and ask ss to tell me the question. "has the monkey escaped? 12--drill and use finger highlighting.

controlled practice (2-3 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

-provide them with the practice sheet" circle the correct woeds" -ask them to answer individually -then they check their answers in pairs -give them only 2 min and demonstrate the first one with them -ICQS: what are you going to do? how much time? -we check answers together. then give feedback

freer practice (2-3 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

-send them the H.O - ask them to write sentences using the words in the box in affirmative or negative , then tell your friend -work in pairs for 2 min -ICQs: will you work alone or in pairs? pairs will you write from the words in the box?(yes) how much time? 2 min
