Procedure (31-43 minutes)
T beings the class with sit-down and stand-up instructions. Then T asks SS to form a circle and asks students to walk, swim and fly around the classroom. Next, T asks SS to make the circle smaller and SS sit down.
SS are shown a big calendar and T asks SS to point out special dates such as Christmas or Halloween. Next, T asks SS to point out their birthdays and starts eliciting the days of the week while discussing birthdays. Then T draws attention to the meaning of today, tomorrow and yesterday.
T puts SS in pairs and gives each pair 7 coloured cards with a day of the week on each one. With the help of the calendar, SS put the days of the week in order on the ground. Then SS touch a card and repeat the day the T says focusing on the pronunciation. This is done a couple of times, each time faster. Finally, T mixes the cards up once again and has SS race to see which pair put the cards in order first.
T asks SS to complete activity A of the book on their own. SS listen and carry out the activity. Then T asks for answers.
T gives each pair Blue-Tak to stick the cards on the walls around the classroom. Then T has SS gather in the middle of the classroom. Each time T shouts: "Today is...", SS run to the day card and touch it. T mentions every day of the week in order. Then T asks questions such as "today is Monday, tomorrow is..." or "today is Sunday, yesterday was..." and SS run to the day card and touch it.
Using the cards on the wall, T puts SS in pairs and asks them to make and answer to questions using the card they see. SS change place each time to a different card and repeat the activity.
