To provide scan reading practice using a text about storm chasers in the context of weather.

Procedure (44-57 minutes)
Warmer (6-8 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Play whack-a-mole weather and seasons related
Pre-Reading (8-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible
-Student will match content words related to the text with some pictures and their meanings. - Student will observe a picture related to the text and will answer some questions to build-up previous knowledge.
While-Reading (6-8 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks
Instruct student to underline antonyms of the word away as he reads the text
Post-Reading #1 (10-15 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
Student will complete controlled practice exercises from page 106
Post-Reading #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
Student will randomly choose different questions (related to weather) to discuss one by one.
