To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of movies
Procedure (39-49 minutes)
Teacher present a picture of movies in Arabic culture and let students guess the topic for the session. Teacher gives students questions to discuss in pairs: 1. What's the last movie you've seen? 2. Do you enjoy watching movies and series? 3. What kind of movies do you like? why? Teacher allocates time for the activity. Teacher gives students content feedback by nominating some to talk about their partner's answers to different questions.
Teacher gives students handout to match the word by it's meaning individually in specific time. Teacher monitors the students. After finishing, students check their answers together for peer correction. Teacher check the words and explain it through (Clarifying - eliciting - CCQs - drilling and word form) MPF Teacher then gives the students some questions about movies and cinema and they try to guess the correct answer individually.
Teacher then asks students to listen to the tape and check their answers. Teacher asks students if they want to listen again. If yes, play the tape again. If No, move to the next step. Ask students to check their answers together. Then teacher nominates students to answer the questions to the whole class.
Teacher then asks students to listen again but now to answer a question (What is the familiar information for you in the tape? What is the most surprising one?) Teacher monitors students Check in pairs then share these with Whole class. Teacher gives students content feedback
Teacher asks students to stand up to play (Find someone Who......) Students mingle and discuss the questions with their peers. Teacher monitors to give feedback at the end. Students then share the answers of their peers with the teacher. Teacher gives language feedback. Teacher writes two sentences (correct) and 1 incorrect sentences (e.g. She like watching comedy.) and ask if this sentence is right. Student say No and correct it (Self correction).
