To provide gist and detailed reading practice using a text about sport in the context of superstition
Subsidiary Aims

To provide fluency speaking practice in a superstition in the context of sports
Procedure (23-36 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
T speaks about things that might bring good luck, and things that might bring bad luck for students in order to elicit the word superstition from them
Pre-Reading/Listening (2-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible
Ss discuss the questions in pairs provide the Ss with the definition of the vocabularies that may be challenging for them
While-Reading/Listening #1 (5-8 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks
Ss read to complete the table in 2 ask ICQs
While-Reading/Listening #2 (7-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks
Ss read again to answer T or F questions
Post-Reading/Listening (6-8 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
