Procedure (35-48 minutes)
T shows some photos using the slides about buying things and asks Ss to talk about the last item they bought and how they paid for it in groups and then some will talk about their partners' experiences. (T monitors the pairs while speaking.)
T asks Ss to read the text quickly max 4 mins and answer Part B, P.94. T asks Ss to check their answers in pairs. T gets the answer from the whole class.
T asks Ss to do part C, P.94 individually. Ss match the headings with paragraphs. T asks Ss to check their answers in pairs. T gets the answers from all the students.
T puts the Ss in groups of 5 and asks them to answer the questions in Part D, P.94. T tells the class the group which has more correct answers will be the winner. T asks each group to give their answers and writes them on the board. T shows the answers to give feedback.
T shows 5 statements and asks Ss to discuss them in their groups if they agree with the statements or not and their reasons. (T monitors while Ss discussing and takes notes for delayed feedback.) T gets 1 response from each group and gives feedback at the end of the lesson.
In case there is time: Ss will write a piece of advice about money and finance on the padlet platform. All the advice will be shown on the board and Ss will vote for the best one.
