Procedure (32-45 minutes)
The T shares a mentimeter link with the students at the beginning of the lesson. There are some questions about the reading text of the lesson. There is also a part of a video embedded, students will watch it and complete the speaker's last sentence.
There are some words in the text that some students may be unfamiliar with. The T pairs the students up and starts definiton & sample sentence matching activity. They use wordwall to make it more competitive and engaging. When they are done, they have a quick look on the answers all together.
The T asks ss what strategies they remember regarding matching sentence ending questions. T reminds them that it is better to read sentence beginnings rather than because some sentence endings will not be used. T pairs up the ss and asks them read the sentence beginnings, underline key words and think of paraphrases for each sentence beginning. They share their paraphrases on padlet.
The T gives ss the text and asks them to match the sentence endings. They do the task individually in 8 mins and check in pairs.
T prepares sentences related to language learning beforehand and cuts them into two. Every student in the class gets one part of a sentence and tries to find the other part by mingling and reading other's sentences. Sentences are taken from an article.
