Procedure (84 minutes)
- introduce yourself - explain the changing seat game for the Ss - and do the game
- ask the Ss "what season do you like and why ?" - tell Ss we're going to talk about weather and seasons
- draw a bubble on the board and name it "weather" - ask Ss to tell you words related to weather - write these words on the bubble
- ask the Ss to listen and tell you " where is anita ? And where are her friends ? - listen for the second time and make the Ss to tell you "what's the weather like in each place ?"
- ask the Ss to notice what is anita doing right now (she's taking a break ) - ask the Ss what Bill and marcos not doing ? ( We're not swimming ) - what are jose and katie doing ? (They' re playing tennis )
MEANING - explain to the Ss what is the PC about and when to use it PRONUNCIATION - explain to Ss how we pronounce the (ing) in the american accent FORM - highlight the form on the board CCQs - ask the learners some questions about the PC with yes and no answers to check their comperhension
- ask the Ss to answer the Ex. A in the book p67 - then listen and check their answers - do ICQs
- ask Ss to prepare for a role-play - ask them to prepare some info about where are they, what's the weather like, who are you with, and what are you doing ? - ask Ss to convince the other Ss to come and have some fun and then ask them would they really do that or not ? - then switch roles
- ask the S if do they like sports or not ? If yes, what type of sport they like the most ?
- draw a bubble on the board and name it sports - make the S to tell some names of sports
- ask S to listen and tell "is Carl studying hard this semester ? And what is he doing right now ?" - ask S to listen again while reading
- ask S to listen and highlight three questions were asked in the text and tell you what are they
MEANING - explain how we form questions FORM - highlight the form and link it to what you explained
- ask S to answer Ex. A in the book p69 - do ICQs - check the answers by choosing one by one randomly
- ask S to work in pairs for a role-play - one student will tell the other about a sport he's doing it recently - and he trys to convince his/her friend to join him/her - then switch roles
