Description

In this lesson students will improve their writing skills through the informal letter examples.And also after that they can see the differences between formal and informal letters.Finally they will practice writing.

Main Aims

To provide the students achieve writing skills.

Subsidiary Aims

To improve their communication through informal letters.

Procedure (34-40 minutes)

Warm up

First the students will imagine that they received a letter from their penfriends .They will explain how they may react to the letters.They will talk about these with the teacher.

Lead in (7-8 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading

The students will examine different types of letters.They can see the differences between informal/formal with their teacher.Then they will decide the topic they will write about.

Model Text (7-8 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

They will try to find what parts should be in a letter and their location in the letter,they will highlight the important parts.

Writing Preparation (5-6 minutes)

The students will explain what they want to add to the letter.

Writing Task:First Draft (7-8 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

In this part the students will write their first draft using the necessary things.

Editing & Final Draft (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

The students will correct their mistakes in groups.If they wrote the address to right place or used paragraphs etc. Finally the teacher will check the complete letter.
