Procedure (34-45 minutes)
Have students answer the questions: ¨Have you ever had a bad experience while planning a holiday? Or while being on holiday? Teacher will give a quick example and then allow students to answer the questions with their own experiences.
Students will receive a handout with a reading about a woman who had a bad experience while planning her holidays. Students will read the text quickly for gist to get a general idea about it and then ask what would be the most appropiate tittle for this text. Students will need to select one out of the five tittles that will be given to them. If there is a large group, put SS into BoRs to discuss their choice and the reason for why the chose this tittle. If the class is small, we will dicuss as a group.
Students will be put into breakout rooms to complete these activities in a jamboard I will create in advance. I will explain that they must first put the advervials into the correct category: WHERE for place WHEN for time, etc Then Students will work on linking and stress on the adverbials. I will do an example for each activity with the group before putting them into BoRs After I bring SS back to main session, I will show them the answer key so they can check their work and go over any questions they may have.
Next students will practice the language with a short text. They will complete the activity on their own and then check in groups if there are enough students. If not, just check with the class using an answer key.
Students will go to Padlet after I share the link with them and they will complete their writing on there. They must write a narrative describing a bad/terrible experience. SS will work on this individually.
Have students who finish early check the work of their classmates so they can later share what they though about their bad experience. I will pay close attention to see if SS used the adverbials correctly in their writings.
