Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Show SS jamboard with three pictures of great achievements and ask them what they have in common, hoping they can say ¨achievements¨ After some time, change to next slide and have SS share some examples of what they think have been some great achievements.

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Have SS read the small articcle ¨The Top 50 Achievements¨ for gist. After SS discuss their answers, explain that they will be working in groups (if there is a large group) to nominate an achievement that they feel should be included in this show. SS will be given 6-8 minutes to work in their groups, or individually and talk about what achievement they will like to nominate.

Useful Language (5-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Give SS a list of useful language that they can use in their presentations. Make sure this is given before they present and before they go into breakout rooms so that they can better plan what they will say once they return to the main session.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

SS will be put into breakout rooms to prepare their presentation. They must first use the jamboard (https://jamboard.google.com/d/1aGwGbMptbawArV9-kcTeLIQSg7hCHE047Dt1YFjltKI/viewer?f=3) to type the achievement they want to do. Classmates will be able to see their answers so no one can choose their same achievement. SS will have 10 - 12 minutes to work on groups and then they will present to the class. Each group will present for three minutes. If there are 3 SS, each should talk for at least one minute.

Feedback and Error Correction (3-5 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

After the presentations have ended, I will provide feedback on their presentations, their use of language, etc.
