Procedure (34-45 minutes)
T greets the class, ask ss where they are from. If they are from the same country, make adjustments to productive task (pair or team work to promote their country) Ask ss to discuss the questions: - Have you ever traveled to another country? - What social customs did you notice? - If you haven't, what do you notice in your own country? Play audio 7-2 as a sample answer, or say: I traveled to Switzerland a few years ago and I noticed that when people met for the first time, they air-kissed three times.
T plays audios of people talking about their countries, tells students to identify the topics they talk about. Send google forms with list to answer.
T sends Ss link to jamboard. Tell them to do the first labelling activity. "What to do" and "What not to do" (2 min). Send to breakout rooms to check answers before OCFB (2 min). -OCFB with answer key T sends link to google forms. Tell them to do "fill in the blanks" activity to cover form (3 min). Send to breakout rooms to check answers (2 min). -OCFB with answer key T presents jamboard to go over pronunciation. Ask ss to identify sentence stress.
Activity: You are going to imagine that your classmates are going to visit your country. Give advice for what to do and what not to do. Do not forget to use the phrases we talked about earlier. I will move you to another breakout room after about (5-7) min so you can talk to different people.
