I'm going to ask SS about their favorite movie and characters, and then I start to talk about my favorite movies and characters :Batman, Superman ,Spider man and show SS pictures of Superheroes and tell them they are my favorite characters because of their abilities : Superman can fly . He can't do magic.,etc .
Students are provided with 6 sentences about their abilities and they are going to choose the best option CAN or CAN'T to make a true sentence about themselves and check their answers in pairs, then they are going to listen to 6 sentences and underline what they hear and then check their answers in pairs. In this way I'm going to provide context for the target language through a mini task and pre-listening.
First, SS are going to listen to a conversation between Ben and Dexter talking about abilities, and then they are going to complete a chart about them and check their answers in pairs. Finally, the teacher presents the grammar part and clarifies it according to MPF.
Students are going to listen to a track to practice weak and strong forms of can and can't and then they listen to another track to fill the gaps in the sentences .Finally they check their answers in pairs.
At this stage , students are going to ask and answer questions to complete the chart of second exercise about their partner and share their partner ability with the class.
