English B level
Description
Materials
Main Aims
-
1. To research and work collaboratively on a project. 2. To present a final product/project.
Subsidiary Aims
-
To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a presentation in the context of history of Hip-Hop music.
Procedure (45-25 minutes)
1. What do you know about Hip-Hop music? 2. Do you have a favourite Hip-Hop song or singer? (I might ask the students to play the song for us or show us a picture of the singer).
1. The students will conduct initial research on Hip-Hop on the internet. 2. They will create a list of the most famous Hip-Hop stars in the US. 3. The students will then make a list of the most popular hits of Hip-Hop music ( Teacher guidance is provided to avoid exposure to bad language).
1. The students will be engaged in their research and working on their projects at this stage. 2. Meanwhile, I'll provide support on emerging languages/vocabulary. 3. I'll provide feedback mainly on fluency.
At this stage, the students will present the final project. They will have to assign roles and a team speaker before presenting their work. It will last for a whole class.
At the end of the project, I'll provide general feedback to everyone that includes key points from each presentation.
