Procedure (24-34 minutes)
Warm up and exposure (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students and to provide context for the target language through the text.
Ss do the reading ex. 2a on pg. 24 to get into the context but skip 2b.
Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language
Use the ppt in the folder to do the matching activity to focus on the target language.
Clarification (3-5 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language
Ss are already familiar with the target language but still elicit the form and write on the board.
Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice
As in the book, b-c-d exercises. Do the exercises on Grammar Focus 2B on pg. 134 in pairs.
Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language
Do the speaking part 4 a-b as in the book to practise the grammar forms.
