Main Aim: To give Ss practice in speaking for accuracy & fluency in the context of typical friends and free-time activities.
Subsidiary Aims

To give the Ss controlled & semi-controlled practice of simple present yes/no questions. To consolidate & give Ss the opportunity to practice free time vocabulary.
Procedure (45-55 minutes)
Introduce the activity, to fill in this ho about what you enjoy doing in your free time. Show the HO. Demonstrate it by asking 2/3 ss some questions. In the 'me' section fill with a tick or cross, and show this on the board with the answers Check understanding - I like football, do I put a tick or a cross? Give out HO.
Tell students they will now do the ho in pairs and ask the same questions of their partner. How will you ask these questions? 'Do you....' Write on wb. Drill 'Do you..........?' Prompt the students into asking some questions from the sheet using the format. Listen for Ss intonation of the question and drill chorally and individually Put into pairs, students write partner's name to top. Check understanding.....What will you write in this space? (partner1 space) When finished put into new pairs and they will now find out about their new partner's 'partner 1' How will I find out about.......? Write on wb 'Does he/she/ali/fatma.....' Demonstrate with an example from the students pairings. Make notes of errors and good language to put on the w/b for fb/delayed correction after the activity. When finished get individual students to tell the class about their partner 2
Tell students you will give them a HO with some activities they may do in their free time, show the HO and fold in half. They will just concerntrate on ex1. Tell them to think about some of these activities, which they do alone, and what they do with friends. Ask ICQ, Are you writing? Are you just looking at? Give out HO. Look at 1st together, 'talk about personal things' you do this alone or with friends? what about watching TV?
Tell students they will interview another student. T pairs with a s and asks a question to demonstrate. (ex. 2) Wriye on wb 'Do you...with friends?' Demonstrate asking a student and then use the phrase 'me too' for their answer. Demonstrate with s-s a few times before starting task. Ask ICQ - Are we writing? Are we speaking? Make notes of errors and good language to put on the w/b for fb after the activity. Ask students about their partners
Write some of the questions that the students practiced in the lesson on the wb using 'Do you...?' and 'Does she/he.....?' And any difficulties in grammar or pronunciation of the questions.
