Procedure (37-49 minutes)
In 10 things, students have to race to think of 10 things that they might need in a certain situation. 5 are countable nouns while the other 5 are uncountable.
Students complete the sentences in 1a individually then check in pairs. Elicit the answers in the text on page 72.
Read the nouns from the box with the students and quickly check students remember what they mean. Give students a few minutes to read the two definitions, and then decide which of the nouns are countable or uncountable. Elicit the answers
Focus on the quantifiers in bold in the pairs of sentences in part 2. Elicit if there is a difference on the first pair of sentences as an example. Give students a few minutes to work alone and then check in pair groups.
Practice 1&2 Do the first one as an example. Students work individually to choose the correct answer. Check in pairs and then check answers as a class
Practice 3 Give students a few minutes to think of some reasons why people might be interested in visiting their area/country. Remind students to use the grammar focus box and elicit other potential attractions, e.g. restaurants,museums, nightlife
