Main Aims

To provide a review and practice of Intensifiers in the context of climate change. By the end of this lesson, students will be able to clarify the use of intensifiers and use them properly with gradable and non gradable adjectives.
Subsidiary Aims
-
To develop students´s ability to read for general understanding. To encourage students’ ability to include TL when speaking.
Procedure (35-41 minutes)

Students read the text individually for two minutes and observe the expressions included in the text. I will advice to try to recognize some adjectives and some intensifiers. ICQs ・Are you going to read looking for details?- No, just very quick. ・What kind of vocabulary are you going to pay attention to?- Adjectives and intensifiers. ・Are you going do it individually or in pairs?- Individually. 2 FB: go through the answers
1. Students will play a quiz related to the topic 'deciding what to do' where they will interact with useful functional language discovering form. 2. We will go through meaning and pronunciation together.
Students will play work in teams to solve a task ・students are asked to put the words into the correct order and make sentences. ICQs: ・ How many sentences are you going to create? -5 ・Are you going to do this individually or in pairs?-individually Feedback
1. Students will see a question on the screen and as a group they will give their opinions using the TL as part of the freer practice the teacher will give her opinion first. ICQs: ・Are you going to give your personal opinion? Yes! ・What kind of language you have to use? adjectives and intensifiers.
- I will conclude the climate change topic emphasizing with tips about adjectives and intensifiers. -I give FB on good language use. - I use the zoom board to highlight some errors that students made during the speaking activity and gets students to correct them. - I ask if there are any questions left. If there are, I address them.
