In and intensive reading task, Ss will listen to the same speakers speak in first conditional tense but Ss will need to fill-in missing words from the statements shown.
Ss will observe some examples from intensive reading task to introduce and elicit use of form (tense) and by way of CCQs.
Ss will refer to examples to help understand meaning (ie: If the weather is good (future possible situation), we'll go to the park (future result of situation) Ss will fill in the blank of the formula provided for the appropriacy of first conditional. Ss will practice with pronunciation from second example (ie: If I get a good grade, I'll be very happy) with model speaking for emphasis and linking words - "get a good" Ss will elicit from examples the possible future situation and the result of the future situation (ie: which is the if clause and which is the main clause?)
Ss will be able to practice TL by changing examples of first conditional main clauses to fit their personal adaptation to each if clause. Teacher model will elicit, group attempt at number two together before BORs. Ss will have opportunity to take turns sharing their personal changes to remaining three examples. I will observe each BOR to note some of the examples on the board in OCFB.
Ss will be prompted with examples of topics to practice in BORs using first conditional TL in different contexts (jobs, relationships, hobbies, travel). I will demonstrate the first example with first conditional relative to hobbies and prompt Ss how to ask a question using first conditional inverted main clause, if clause pertaining to travel plans (ie: Where will you go , if ________?)
