Description

In this lesson, the people will learn the basic aspects of teaching writing and how to teach that to the students. Starting with a question about their experience, we then explain the topic to the class, asking questions to involve them in the process, ending with an activity about creative writing to cement the learning

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Start by asking the students about their day for them to feel comfortable. After that, announce the topic of the class for them to get in the mood. After that, ask the question "What have you written?" and listen to their answers

Exposure (5-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Start the presentation, explain the information and the processes, answering questions along the way and involving the students with questions and petitions to read parts of the presentation.

Productive Task(s) (5-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

After that, give the students the following indications for them to start working and practicing the processes you just reviewed: 1. In your paper sheet, write ten random words 2. Out of those five, choose 5 that resonate with you the most 3. After choosing the 5 words, write a short story using the words 4. Once you're done, share it with the class!

Feedback and Error Correction (5-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

For the last part of the class, talk with the students about how they felt in the activity, as well as correcting mistakes (if any) in the writing process
