Procedure (35-45 minutes)
T shows the words that the Ss confuse with other words in terms of pronunciation and request them to read aloud these words (bad/bed). T will not correct their mistakes or give a feedback in this part. Then T asks the Ss what other words they struggle with pronounce and write them on board.
T explains the IPA to the Ss. T pronounces every "symbol" in the IPA, then the Ss repeat right after the T. T pronounce the words written in phonetic alphabet and highlight with intonation to touch on confusing or correcting wrong knowledge beforehand.
Ss are given a text of some songs/tv series/films clips that include confusing words. T open the songs/tv series/films and meanwhile students try to understand correct pronunciation. T underline the confusing words and asks Ss read them loudly.
T asks the Ss who they want to work with and splits the class into groups of 3. Each group is given papers with 3 parts of exercise. In the first part. write a word that contains the sound in the given example("t" is for "till"). In the second part, the Ss do just the opposite of the first one. In last part, the Ss try to write very basic words that T asks in phonetich alphabet in Latin alphabet.
T explain what is and how they can use Kahoot and then, shares the game code to the Ss to play Kahoot. There will be 3 games on Kahoot. In the first one, the Ss try to find which word include the sound on the screen. Second, the Ss try to find which sound does not include in the words on the screen. In Third one, the Ss try to find correct translation of the words (LA- IPA). After the game, if there are still common mistakes, T go back to IPA and repeat the correct pronunciation.
