Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Procedure • T. shows a jambord to students, Teaches asks students what do they do when they get lost • If needed teacher models some examples: I check a map I check a gaps I ask for directions • T. breaks ss in break out rooms to talk about it (1- 2 min)

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

• T. shares a google site link • T. explains to Ss. they will read and listen to a text twice; The first time they should only listen and read • The second time they should answer the three questions on the first form of the site. • Ss. will check their answers in pairs. (Ss. will work in breakout rooms if possible) (2 min - PW) • Ss. will share their answers with the whole class. (if time allows) T. asks why they give their particular answers. (2 min)

Highlighting (5-6 minutes) • draw students attention to the target language & gauge students previous knowlede of the target language

• Teacher asks students about the expressions in bold • Teacher asks students to answer form 2. • Ss. will check their answers in pairs. (Ss. will work in breakout rooms if possible) (2 min - PW) • Ss. will share their answers with the whole class. (if time allows) T. asks why they give

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

• Teacher shares the link to a presentation • Teacher asks students to connect the coloured lines with the correct image • Teacher shows the second slide and asks ss to come up with their own model sentences • SStudents to come up with some model sentences using the grammar breakdown • Teacher shows the pronunciation slide and checks intonation

Controlled Practice (6-8 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

• T. shares link to a google form where SS will practice the vocabulary seen in class (2 min) • Ss. will check their answers in pairs. (Ss. will work in breakout rooms if possible) (2 min - PW) • Ss. will share their answers with the whole class. (if time allows) T. asks why they give their particular answers. (2 min)

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

• T. shares link, on zoom’s chat, to a Google Jamboard where Ss. Will see the map from previous exercises. • SS will role-play asking for directions T. monitors for mistakes • SS present their roleplays
