To introduce and provide practice of writing a (short) social media biography paragraph to tell viewers something about yourself.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide review and practice of vocabulary in the context of a quick personal biography.
Procedure (39-49 minutes)
I will ask my students the following questions: 1. Do you like to talk about yourself? 2. Can social media help you get jobs, friends, opportunities? Why or why not?
1. Present instructions - 1 minute 2. Students will read a short bio text and identify the main ideas. I will assign the students a quick four-part quiz from the text to consider and solve, and will show the answers after each part. a. read text - 2 minutes b. quiz + answers 4 minutes
1. Look at teacher example again. (1 minute) 2. Analyze components / sentence structure (2-3 minutes) Hello! My name is __(name)_______. I work as a _(job)___. My friends say I’m __(adjective)__, __(adjective)_, and _(adjective)_. The things I love the most are __(noun, or verb +ing)_ and _(noun, or verb +ing)_. My greatest achievement is _(noun, or verb +ing). Potential CCQ’s: What are two meanings of love? Give an example of your work. What is a synonym for achievement? (reached goal, etc.) 3. Review useful words on Jamboard (5-7 minutes)
1. Students will receive instructions and a demonstration for the assignment. (2 minutes) 2. Students will each individually receive a Google Forms link to fill out their unique social media biography, for this activity they will be allotted 6 minutes. 3. Students will have an opportunity to check their work with a partner, either in BOR or if not sufficient participants, as a class (they will read bio to partner or class and partner/class will give advise based on checklist teacher sent). (6 minutes)
1. I will have checked all completed student bios for errors and corrected potential mistakes for DEC while students were reviewing each other's work. 2. We will discuss their work, reviewing editing and error correction. We will look at any potential trouble areas and I will cover any questions from the students.
