Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will ask students to answer the following questions: 1. Tell us about (describe) your home. 2. Do you like living there? Why?/Why not?

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

T will show students the listening for gist questions. T will play the audio once (1:39min) Ss will answer the following CCQs (via Google Forms): 1. Does Angus live in Glasgow now? 2. What does he do for a living? 3. Where were Meg and Larry living when they first met? 4. How long have they been married? 5. Who worked in a restaurant, Meg or Larry?

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T will clarify TL using a timeline, showing the grammatical breakdown of positive and interrogative forms and providing examples from the text. T will ask students to fill the gaps to check understanding: We use the_____________ to talk about something that started and finished in the past.*simple past We use the_____________ to talk about something that started in the past and continues in the present.*present perfect. Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T will ask students to complete the following exercise via (Google Forms) Choose the correct verb forms in these sentences and decide if you should use since or for.
