Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-1 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

This step will be completed on the first hour of the day, with page 54 Exercise 1-2-3. Ss will be sharing their shopping habits with Exercise 1 and engaging with the topic of shopping.

(Grammar) Exposure (4-4 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

-T opens the slide to show short instructions - T gives the instructions orally and asks Ss to read two sentences and answer the two questions. - T asks Ss two finish it in 2 minutes. - After two minutes, T nominates one of the Ss to answer the first question and another to answer the next. - T clarifies if the Ss answer of the questions wrong.

Highlighting and Clarification (8-8 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language and to clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

-T opens page 55 on the eText of the Coursebook and asks Ss to focus on the reading text and find 3 different present continuous sentences. (Exercise 4b) - T asks them to finish in 2 minutes and share their answers by marking the sentences on the whiteboard. - After Ss finish sharing example sentences, T asks Ss to complete chart on Exercise 4c by looking at the text. -T instructs them to finish in 3 minutes. - After they finish, T nominates Ss to complete the chart. -T corrects the answers if they are wrong and clarifies the rules by referring to the text.

Controlled Practice (8-8 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

-T opens Exercise 5 and asks the Ss to use present continuous and complete the sentences with the verbs in the brackets. - T asks them to finish in 3 minutes. -After they finish, T asks Ss to peer check. - Then, T opens the answers on eText and asks them to check them. - If there are any mistakes, T clarifies the mistake and refers to the grammar rules in Exercise 4c. -When the exercise finishes, T asks Ss to look at Exercise 6. - T instructs Ss to complete sentences with present continuous and the verbs in the brackets. - After they finish, T asks nominates Ss and receives answers. - If there are any mistakes, T clarifies the mistake and refers to the grammar rules in Exercise 4c.

Free Practice (6-6 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

- T asks Ss to look at the step by step instructions on the presentation, which has been based on Exercise 7. - T plays the recording and allow Ss to make sentences and explain the situation to their partners, after each number. - After the exercise finishes, T asks Ss to volunteer for the answers. -T clarifies meaning by playing the recording again, if there are any mistakes

- T opens slide 3 and shows a short vocabulary matching exercise based on the lexis on Exercise 8a. - T asks Ss to match verbs to pictures describing the actions. - T takes volunteers for the answers corrects and clarifies them if the answers are wrong.
