Description

In this lesson, students are supposed to learn new words through reading skills. The text that Iam going to use is intended for an e-mail sent to a friend, which will help students better understand the meanings of new words.

Main Aims

To provide clarification, review and practice of email words in the context of a frie

Subsidiary Aims

To provide gist, scan, detailed, deduction and inference reading practice using a text about an email from a friend in the context of friend's

Procedure (27-36 minutes)

Lead in (4-5 minutes) • To have a warm up

To make students remember the last lesson which was a listening. Iam going to ask them to tell each other the story.

Pre-teach new words (4-6 minutes) • To help students not to have problems with the meaning of the reading

I will give the students time to connect the words to their meanings. This will help them to have no problem with the meaning of the text and to have a better understanding of the meaning of the words when reading the text.

Reading task (6-8 minutes) • To practice reading for gist/detail/specific information

I will send them the text to read it after they would understand the meanings of the new words. It will help them to understand the meanings very well and learn how to use them.

Clarifying target language (5-7 minutes) • To clarify the pronunciation of the new words

I will read the text for them to teach and help them pronouns the words correctly.

Task1 / Task2 (8-10 minutes) • To test students that they understand the text and the meanings of the words or not

I will give them 4 minutes to do each Task and will let them do them together. After they finish each part, we will examine that part.
