Procedure (37-47 minutes)
Stick the American Flag on the whiteboard and ask students what they know about the USA. Try to get the answer "White House"
Stick the picture on the board. Ask Ss what they see in the picture and try to get as many answers as possible.
Divide Ss into 3 groups of 4 students and tell them they will be doing a matching activity. Give 3 cut-ups to every group ask them to match them to possible answers. When the groups finish their parts, switch 2 students from each group with another group. Then ask Ss to read the answers if needed and ask some ICQs.
Ask students to think about the sentences in pairs for a minute. Ask them what they think about the sentences. Ask them to read the text and check their answers. Give them 4-5 minutes to read and ask them to check their answers in pairs.
Ask Ss to look at the second sentence at the "answer the questions" exercise and elicit "exactly". Then ask them to read and answer the text. Give them 5-6 minutes. Then ask them to check their answers in groups.
Divide the students into 2 groups and assign 4 of the numbers to the first group and assign the remaining 4 numbers to the other group. Ask ICQs to see if they understand the activity. Then tell them to say what those figures refer to.
