Main Aims

To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of achievements.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide clarification, review and practice of language used for talking about achievements in the context of achievements.
Procedure (37-55 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
OCFB, engage learners by asking if they know any of these people and what did they achieve?
Content Preparation (3-5 minutes) • To prepare materials needed for the speaking exercise.
Ask students to think of 3 people that have achieved something. Have them take notes to prepare for the speaking exercise.
Language Preparation (6-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks
Go over meaning, form and pronunciation of useful phrases that can be used in the speaking task.
Speaking Task(s) (20-28 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills
Put students into BORs to practice speaking, up to 5 minutes per round. Feedback in-between rounds to improve the level of speaking.
Feedback and Error Correction (5-7 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language
Positive and constructive feedback for the lesson. DEC if time.
