Description

In this lesson plan, students will be able to introduce themselves, talk about what theyn enjoy about school as well as identifying different key vocabulary about school suplies and setting (ex. bag, book, chair, door, pencil, table, window)

Materials

Main Aims

  • By the end of this lesson the student is intended to identify school supplies and practice to introduce itself in a social environment

Subsidiary Aims

  • To train the students listening skills so that they are able to recognize pieces of information by looking at pictures or reading basic sentences

Procedure

Exposure (15-20 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Once Ss have figured out the truths and lie, they will do their own jamboard game. T will share the link with them through email so they can do it on a different slide which will have a tag with their names on it. After they are done with that, Ss will introduce themselves and the others will have to guess their truths and lie. Next thing Ss will do is to make cards with their names using color sheets of paper, markers, stickers, etc then T will show the alphabet and will help Ss spell their names.

Highlighting (15-20 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Once Ss have finished the game, T will go to the book on page 4-5 and will ask Ss: what is your favorite thing about school? what do you like to do at school? T will play song track 03 "Fun at school" twice, one for them to listen and another one for them to sing. Then, T will tell students about the different things they can find at school such as bag, book, chair, door, pencil, table and window as well as numbers. T will use realia to teach meaning and will play the audio for clarification.

Clarification (10-15 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T will play the audios again on page 6 so Ss can do activities 1 and 2. Before they start coloring, T will check with the class so everyone knows what they are doing. After Ss are done coloring, they will guess the item by asking their classmates, respecting their distance.

Practice (15-20 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T will play a video so students can answer activity 1 on page 7 then, Ss will play "Simon says" acting the different commands from the book. Winner gets a sticker. Next, on activity 2 T will play the audio for students to match the pictures with the actions mentioned.

Semi-Controlled Practice (20-30 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

T goes to Jamboard again and introduces the alphabet for students to listen and practice then T writes some words on the board and asks Ss to spell them. Next, T goes to page 8 and tell students to read at the dialogue for one minute, after that T plays the audio and then asks students to do a roleplay in pairs. Then Ss will answer page 9 and T will check with the class once they are done Lastly, Students will answer pages 4 and 5 from the WB

Freer practice (8-10 minutes) • To give students the opportunity to produce language

T will ask students to draw 5 different things they can find at school, then they will spell how they are called.
