Description
In this lesson, students will boost their usage of present continuous tense. After a brief engagement we start with some real practices in order to review the meaning of the present perfect. Then a listening will be played for ss and will be asked to make sentences. After that some questions will be asked about 'ongoing' actions in the pictures.

Main Aims

To provide practice of present continuous

To teach ss the 'form' and 'pronunciation' of present continuous tense
Subsidiary Aims

To increase ss' fluency in using present continuous.
Procedure (35-43 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Ask one of Ss and say: “Please stand up and walk”, and say: “He is walking”, ask two of them” Please speak with each other”, and say: “They are speaking”, and finally say: “I am teaching”.
Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible
to ask questions about ongoing actions for example to sit down and ask them: Am I walking or sitting?
While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks
Play the listening, ask them to make sentences together according to what they have listened. Correct them where is needed.
Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
The second listening will be played and ss will be asked to answer the questions of the student book.
