Description

in this lesson students can learn how to use present perfect tenses correctly by listening to a story about sports and its effects on people's body and mind at the same time.meanwhile some activities are required to be done by students to get the subject completely.

Materials

  • To provide detailed listening practice using a text about staying healthy in the context of exercise

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of peresent perfect tense in the context of exercise

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students and make them more enthusiastic to the subject

teacher shows a video of a girl getting robbed in a street what happend to her? why is she so scared? what do you think is the most valuable thing in her purse that she is worried to lose? where is she?

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible and help them get it correctly

teacher asks the student if they have had the same experience and how they reacted to that CCQ: what would you do if you were her? would you run or defend yourself?

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

teacher clarifies the sentences by rephrasing them and make some examples of them explaining the meaning of new words CCQ: do you know the meaning of heist?

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

teacher asks them to find the grammar used in the text that have been taught recently also wants them to find the verbs that are followed by gerunds CCQ: how many gerunds are there in paragraph D? the pronoun "them" in line 4 referes to..?

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

teacher asks someone to summarize the text and other students are required to ask her some questions accourding to the text
