Procedure (57-72 minutes)
my favourite thing: bring an object and get sts to guess what it is + its story (why it's 'my favourite thing'
- revise giving basic information about people using one of the pictures (name, age, job, hobbies) - students discuss their pic in pairs - regroup and share ideas
jigsaw reading: each pair/small group read their text and decide whether their predictions were correct
students answer the questions as fast as possible WC f/b
sts highlight have got/has got in their texts
using two sentences from the text - I've got a computer + it's got a DVD player elicit the meaning + concept check, then practise the pronunciation (weak form, connected speech) + form (use box p. 18)
students do ex.1 p.18 and check in pairs
Get students to remember the information in the texts and to tell a partner (less controlled than ex. 3 p.19)
preparation time: give students a minute to think about their favourite thing + help with difficult language students mingle and tell 2 other students about their favourite things quick WC f/b
