Description

In this lesson, students will introduce a writing a (short) leaflet to promote a place they like (e.g. a restaurant / hotel)

Main Aims

  • • By the end of the lesson, students will introduce and provide practice of writing a (short) leaflet to promote a place they like (e.g. a restaurant / hotel)

Subsidiary Aims

  • • To provide practice about analyzing a section of a writing piece

Procedure

Lead in (3-5 minutes) • To engage learners and activate their previous knowledge of topic area.

Teacher asks students to discuss the following question: What was the last place you visited and you liked the most? and why?

Sample (8-10 minutes) • To learn about the section of a piece of writing

Ss identify the sections of the writing. Ss match sections with the name of the sections. Ss analyses each paragraph and what the paragraphs are about. T emphasizes on the language needed to create the leaflets, in this case, the modals for suggestions (should, could, can)

Writing (15-20 minutes) • To introduce and provide practice of writing a (short) leaflet to promote a place they like (e.g. a restaurant / hotel)

T displays layout of the writing T gives 15 mins to SS to complete the task SS work 15 min individually

Feedback (8-10 minutes) • To provide learners with feedback on the completion of the task

SS work in pairs SS check their pair work by using a check list provided before T runs OCFB
