To provide clarification of Tuna words in the context of Films
Procedure (32-40 minutes)
Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Pass out realia related to films and fish to have Ss guess the theme.
Pre-teach vocabulary (10-10 minutes) • To clarify difficult words for the lesson and make it accessible
Mime/etc. meaning of words and elicit words from Ss.
Reading (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist reading tasks
Show a commercial.
Detailed Reading (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed reading tasks
Have Ss answer questions about the commercial.
Speaking (8-10 minutes) • To provide fluency and practice, with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
Ss have discussion about commercial.
